Today we shared the Big Book called The Gardener’s Maze by Dot Meharry.
We then had a discussion about mazes and direction.
- The Fantails created mazes using blocks with verbal directions using left, right, forwards, backwards
- While the rest of the school were introduced to compass reading. In small groups they had to write direction between two points in the school using the compass points N S E W NW NE SW SE, as well as land marks. This proved to be a challenging task, especially the part where you always need to stop and check where North is :)
