My weekend news

My weekend news

At home in the weekend me, Thomas and Hannah had a water-fight and we ended up in the pool. It was the evening and Hannah slipped off the side of the pool then I cannon bombed in and I jumped over Hannah’s head. She looked up and her mouth went out like a frightened goldfish, she put her hands on her eyes. I did a big jump into the pool and made a huge splash.
Finally we went in inside and had a bath and the bath was warm.

Creating a maze

Today we shared the Big Book called The Gardener’s Maze by Dot Meharry.
We then had a discussion about mazes and direction.

  • The Fantails created mazes using blocks with verbal directions using left, right, forwards, backwards

  • While the rest of the school were introduced to compass reading. In small groups they had to write direction between two points in the school using the compass points N S E W NW NE SW SE, as well as land marks. This proved to be a challenging task, especially the part where you always need to stop and check where North is :)

Reflection
What was the hardest thing for you to do today?
Tim and Ben found it hard to make the bay blades because they kept on breaking.
Kristen had to manage herself while trying to get the paint into the corners.
Lucy found it hard to be patient while waiting for her turn to do the painting.
Jack found it hard to keep the water in the trough.
Zachary found it hard to try and made a car out of Klikko.
Paige had to manage herself at the trough so that she didn’t get other people wet.
Bronson had to manage himself by finding the right pieces to make a dragon.

I am proud of myself today because I …
